Join in the festivities and Obamicon yourself!!! Ombamicon.Me is an awesome Web App that Paste Magazine put out just for fun. You can upload any picture you want with whatever phrase or word you want underneath. If you want to get crazy, you can order it on a tee shirt or mug or whatever other novelty items they're offering. Consider it your act of patriotism for the day!
If you're into kid's books like I am, you may know about a pigeon who wants to do crazy things like...drive a bus, eat a hot dog, stay up late. Or you may know about Edwina, the dinosaur who doesn't know she's extinct. Or Gerard the Elephant and his best friend Piggie. Well now, you can meet Wilbur - a naked mole rat, who wants to get dressed. What's with all the crazy talk, you ask? Mo Willems!
Mo Willems, author and illustrator of many popular award winning kids' books, is on tour now to introduce his newest book, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed. And I got to meet him! He was doing a book signing in the city, so I couldn't resist. I've been a follower of his blog - Mo Willems' Doodles and a proud owner of many of his books including, You Can Never Find a Rickshaw When It Monsoons: The World on One Cartoon a Day. It's Mo fresh out of college with a notepad, pen and ink, and one change of clothes. Check it out!
How cool is this...Poladroid.net (no, I didn't spell that wrong - it's polaDroid) has come up with an awesome way to keep the Polaroids alive! You simply drag and drop your digital pics into the application, and it’ll transform them into Polaroids. The process is incredibly cute, too. Once you install it, a little Polaroid camera pops up on your desk top. You drag whatever image you want (in my case, I used the picture I took of my Chucks and my 1 year old neighbor, Mady's, Chucks side by side) then your computer makes the ever nostalgic Polaroid camera noise and out pops your Polaroid image! But wait, that's not all!! The image of course isn't clear yet! You have to shake it!! Yes, a tiny hand appears and you totally have to shake it! How could you not love this!!!
for Barnes & Noble Back to School 2009I was also told to get to work on the 2011 Daily Planners! What an honor!! This calls for the cracking open of a new sketchbook!
